SOLA: Tunnel of Light
Earlier this year Splinter built the structure for the ‘SOLA: Tunnel of Light’ immersive experience. Originally intended to be a much bigger entity, Splinter had to adjust the structure post-construction to allow the tunnel to be two different lengths for the potential of installation in multiple locations.
Designed by SquidSoup and sponsored by Hyundai, the tunnel bathes visitors in an intense sun-like light. Aimed at recreating the pure joy of feeling the sun’s rays on your body, the experience was a reminder of the summer sun, and the light at the end of the Covid tunnel on the horizon.
Keeping Busy!
The whole team has been busy over the last few months with some great work for projects all around the country. We will soon be sharing photos of our work for Blenheim Palace, a collection of drinking pods in Marble Arch and a fantastic Opera we will be fitting up next week. It has been great to see people enjoying beer gardens around the country too with a few structures built by Splinter such as Bodega in Nottingham (pictured), designed and installed by Decordia. We’re happy to say we have been getting new faces in the workshop too and keeping the set construction community active!
